I'm thinking of a couple of nits that I don't think would be alleviated with two monitors. Of course, Shredder is the only chess program I use right now, so I don't know whether all of the others also have these or similar problems. And of course I get in the habit of assuming my mouse is over the forward-one-move button, and when I forget that I had just moved it to click on this pop-up, I wind up clicking on some random move in the notation window and lose my place. Usually it pops up over the notation for the next few moves in the notation display (which I would want to see to determine whether I am interested in following the line). When I am stepping through a game with alternate lines, the pop-up that asks which line to follow always pops up in an inconvenient location. This is distressing for when I am going over a completed game with the alternate lines the analysis provides, since I have to be constantly flipping between the view that shows me where it all went wrong, and the view that shows me what the current difference in material is The game profile and pieces displays are mutually exclusive: I can either see captured material or the assessment of the position(s). In particular, my problems are that 1) some of the views share a window with tabs, so you can only view one at a time, and 2) the select-an-alternate-line pop-up always appears in inconvenient locations.
